Solar Katrina™: A Play in Three Acts
The play takes place in New York City sometime in the near future,
after solar storms have destroyed communications satellites,
power grids, the internet, television, and all forms of digital
communication. Bruce Marsden, 74, is a newspaper editor who
has been hired back by his paper because he is one of the few
people left who knows how to edit by hand. An urban recluse
who lives with his late wife's remains in a crystal hourglass,
Bruce's contact with the outside world is limited to a battery-operated
transistor radio and daily visits from Marco, a bicycle messenger
who has a masters' in education and speaks five languages. That
is, until Act Two, when Angel makes a surprise appearance from
a higher spiritual realm, forcing Bruce and Marco to acknowledge
